The Higgsfield Shortcut

The no-LoRA alternative: Higgsfield's Soul-ID replaces avatar training with a one-time photo upload — when to take the shortcut and when the full pipeline still wins.

Don't want to train LoRAs or tune weights at all? Higgsfield AI gets you most of the way with none of the knobs. Instead of an avatar LoRA, it uses a Soul-ID: upload your photos once, and the platform bakes your identity into every generation after that.

The 4-step workflow:

  1. Create a Soul-ID from 15–30 real selfies — the same photo rules as the LoRA training set apply.
  2. Pick the Soul 2.0 model (built for realistic UGC-style portraits) with a 3:4 or 9:16 ratio for vertical selfies. For the editorial pack, its Soul Cinema sibling handles the cinematic looks.
  3. Reuse any prompt from this course: drop the LoRA trigger words, keep the scene, lens, and lighting parts — and keep shot on an iPhone, IMG_1018.HEIC for the phone-photo feel.
  4. Want stronger texture? Run the output through an image-to-image pass with a short prompt like detailed skin, visible pores, natural skin texture.

Which path when: the FLUX pipeline gives you layer-by-layer control (every weight, seed, and strength is yours) and costs less at volume. Higgsfield is much faster to a first good result and has no setup — but you can't tune the skin layer independently. Learn the pipeline first so you understand what realism is made of; reach for the shortcut when speed matters more than control.
